Default Question about Running Hondata S300

Im thinking about running the Hondata unit instead of the Uberdata. Would it be a wise decision to convert from OBD2 to OBD1 to run the S300? I was going to send out an OBD1 P72 to get chipped with the Uberdata but I dont know if I would have to switch over to run the Hondata? Any help is appreciated.

i would like to know if anyone has any experiences with the s300 as well. as far as i understand you don't have to switch form OBDII to OBDI for it. it should plug right into the harness in the car. it's set to keep your car OBDII. but if anyone has any more input it would be greatly appreciated.

the hondata website flat out says that the s300 is an obd1 system.
s300 is different than chipping the ecu, you would need to remove the chip and solder in some different parts.

the hondata s300 is another aem ems system with the same features that aem has. In order to use the s300 you would have to remove the ecu open it up and take out everything in it and replace with the motherboard that hondata supplies with the kit. you will also have to cut out part of you ecu so that you can connect a usb cable to the ecu so you can tune it with a labtop and the software that hondata supplies.

You do not remove the oem honda mother board, there is another board that attaches to the oem board that has the usb support and the area for the chip. It is an obd1 system only, well worth the money, many more tuning options and still about 400 cheaper than an aem ems.

Ok, thanks for the info guys...I looked at the S300 on the website but I guess I did not look close enough to see that it is only an OBD1 system. I have an OBD1 P72 Ecu ready to go in my car but I was curious cause I will need the jumper to go from 2 to 1 and I was just making sure that It would be a good purchase on my part.
