Default Question about getting bearing color?

I just want to make sure that I am using the right procedures for getting the rod bearing colors. I think it's taking the number off the connecting rod then using the letter off the crank. But on the pulley end of the crank the first location has both a number and a letter. If I am not mistaken I'm pretty sure that the number is for the bearing for the No 1 journel but I am not 100% sure. Any help would be appreciated. Tim

the crank codes are for thr main/rod bearings. run to a dealer and look at a service manual to see which to use.
