Question about battery. noob question
Okay, did a search, found nothing
My question is, ive got a battery in my car
Now recently the battery has stopped the car from turning over, but i still have power to everything.
Is that possible??
I know theres voltage and cranking amps, but what is the difference? i cant start my car but i can bump start, meaning dropping the clutch to start it.
Could this be my battery? when i try to turn the car over and its not clicking or anything, but i noticed alot of corrosion around the connectors. i cleaned it and it did nothing, is it my battery the starter or my alternator?
i have a d16z6
its a shitty kirkland battery and i noticed a little sticker that says "5/05" im assuming thats when it was bought or manufactured. It came with the car so im not sure, any help would be apprciated.
sorry for the noob question, but the **** is bugging me.
thanks in advance

try another known working battery, if it works perfectly and the car doesn't die then your problem is the battery, if your car acts the same then its most likely your alternator or starter.............=]

dude you have given everybody about an hour to answer your stupid question, so chill out...and if you dont know the answer to this problem then i doubt you have given anyone any real advice on how to fix something, but on to your problem the battery light is like a warning light for your alternator, anytime its not putting out the right voltage or amps it will turn on the light, so if your car isnt running then the light will be on. excessive corrosion can cause the car to not start. there should be 2 cables coming off the battery crimped into one battery terminal, 1 will go to the fuse box the other to the starter...make sure the 1 to the starter isnt broken off or badly damaged because of the corrosion....other than that I suspect your battery, take it out and take it to the parts house they will charge it and test it for free...its not the end of the world so quit whinning like a 5 yr old girl with a skinned knee

look pal, ive been giving valuable info on this board for months, im not good with electrical so its quite obvious. You doubt ive given any real advice? [freak] you for assuming. this board moves fast anyhow so id expect an answer within 45 minutes like "usual", so shut ya **** washer
as for your response, the connectors to the starter are fine, thats not my problem, only corrosion was at the connectors in the trunk at the battery. Sorry pal, it almost is the end of the world cause i got a job n kids to feed. Excuse me for being impatient with all the **** ive answered.
Thanks Hanmin

you should get a dmm and check the voltage that your batt give. if its about 10. volt then your batt needs to be charged... also check your alternator... it also can be the cause of your starting prob. i had the same thing happen to me before in my crx. take your batt and alt and get it checked from your local auto store.. " junk zone, kragens" they usually do it for free.. hope that helps
by the way.. if your batt. is leaking you should check the level of the water thats in the batt. cause if its too low.. then the metal inside is corroded and wont charge. due to the acid inside. but try to fill it with " some " water.. but cheap battery are made of cheaper material.. so they wont last long.. its best if you buy a good one.. they last longer and are made of better material... " optima " they are pretty good.. wont leak. but are expensive.. they are meant for sitting for long times and can handle chargings all the time... also when looking for a battery... try to get a bat that is higher CCA. remember to wash your hand when your touching batteries.. cause of the exhaust fumes that is from the battery... " acid "
