I have a 00 civic ex and had a APC short ram air intake, I was looking for a way to increase hp without spendingto much money,Althought the short ram make the car car sound alot better, we all lnow that hot air isnot the way to go, so ik was looking for a way to channel the air into the filter, what i ended up doing is replacing it with a 2.5" pvc pipe for only$17.23 it was easy t do and made a noticable difference.and one thing aboutpvc over any metal intakepipe, theplastic insulates the air to keep it colder longer(hint)= more power

 

 

We won't talk about my custom exhaust system, thats a whole new topic.

 

PVC lets off toxic fumes when exposed to heat, you shouldn't have a problem w/this but its good to know. I recently made a CAI out of my short ram, used two tin adjustable heating pipes, can twist different sections to make 90 degree or straight and then put 4"X8' heat reflective dryer duct over intake and it does a really good job.

 

I never thought about the dry hose, thats a good idea to insulate the pipe
