Prosport Gauges - A Warning
I ordered a set of prosport gauges - boost and oil pressure, premium gauges with peak/warning modes. Here's what I unboxed after waiting a full month because of backorder:
I called prosport who of course had never heard of such a thing. I sent them an email with this pic:

It's like the lens tint had a slight hue to it that was different between them. It was clearly visible to both me and my girlfriend. One was made 11/09 (purple one, oil) and the other was 1/10 (blue one, boost). There are stickers on the backs of the gauges that show the date they were made so I was sure of the dates.
Prosport on the phone were reluctant to take any action to solve the issue. The guy on the phone tried to say "well we don't know how long the gauges have been sitting at the place you bought them" and basically acted like he wasn't going to do jack **** for me. I asked him how to tell when the gauges were made and he replied that he didnt know. It was only after I found the date stickers on the backs of the gauges. After confronting him with this information he agreed that they would send me an email with details of how to send them in for exchange.
They never sent an email.
I emailed the ebay seller I bought them from. He called them directly (which I had also done) and he (the ebay seller) sent me instructions to mail the gauges in, which I did. A few days later Prosport got the gauges in the mail and called me. The Prosport rep said, "Um we cant see anything wrong with the gauges you sent us". I couldn't believe this. The color of the lenses was CLEARLY off. "I had 6 people look at it and we took them out in the sun and everything". The prosport rep went as far as implying I was making it up and that I had doctored the picture I sent them. BS Prosport. BS. After being polite and trying to find resolution despite my rage, I asked the rep to find an oil pressure gauge that was manufactured with the same date as the boost gauge and send that to me. I honestly expected him to try to make an excuse why he wouldn't but he agreed to do this.
Three days later I got the gauges back - same boost gauge (that was back-ordered for a month) but with an oil pressure gauge that was manufactured in the same production run as the boost.
Here's the pic of the gauges I got back:

Your warning: Prosport's customer service is less than cooperative. They will make you feel like you've done something wrong when you haven't. They will blame their problems on other people. Their gauges are high quality and look nice but just pray you get gauges that are from the same lot if you order them. If you do have a problem you'll have to tell them how to resolve it in a polite manner. Their sales rep doesn't seem to know how to treat customers and resolve problems effectively.
I'm happy with what I ended up with but this issue should have been handled in a much more professional manner.
Just thought I'd let the community know.

Not to say you didn't have a bad experience but...
I bought a Prosport digital tach/shift light (love it) from a local vendor in my town. Months later some of the numbers had parts that were not working all the time. The vendor was doing jack crap for me.
I contacted Prosport via e-mail, told them the story and they said that so long as I could produce a receipt to prove it was within the year warranty there would be no issue.
I shipped the thing back and had a new one in my hand in a matter of days.
No problems, good communication and great timeline to fix my issues.
I might have been lucky, but you may just have been unlucky.
Just wanted to say I was happpy with the service.

I would ask where you got the gauges from, was it an authorized dealer?
If you got them from an authorized dealer, they treated you like **** and the rep should loose his job
If you did not get the gauges from an authorized dealer, and Prosport replaced them anyway, call yourself lucky, they were not obligated to do jack for you.
You said it was an ebay seller, so was he authorized, or was he just someone that picked up some "sold for salvage/seconds/pulled run" gauges and is flogging them? 94

Authorized seller.
I'm happy with what I have now - matching gauges. I'm unhappy with the implied picture doctoring/implied I'm full of **** attitude that prosport took with me on the phone. Unhappy enough to tell the story here.
Take it for what it is. They make good stuff. They did eventually help solve the issue. They dropped the ball on the obvious issue. In fact, they still wont admit that there is an issue. Not sure what they changed with the production of the gauges but I shouldn't have to deal with that problem.
