Default proper way to break in

i have my head at the machine shop gettin valve job and pnp..also installing full supertech valvetrain with sk2s1 cams...i was wondering after getting it all installed and put back in the car...what is the proper way to break in the new topend??

earl wrote something up about breaking in. It's in the archives. Use his name + break-in.

there are several ideas/theories for proper break-in. Here is the one I'm going to use: http://www.mototuneusa.com

There is also http://www.importbuilder.com

Endyne has their own way of breaking it in too.

Basically, it seems the break-in involves running it hard, but not abusing it, if that makes any sense to you.

Some cam manufacturers recommend a 10 minute breakin at high idle with a thick oil, but I would not recommend this if the piston rings are new. I'm guessing you're only having head work done...?
