96 gsr

ok, over the weekend i took my tranny out and replaced the 1st/2nd syncro set. all went well. came out fine, got all the gears and syncros off of the shafts and back on fine. everything went back together perfectly. put the casing back on, and put it back in the car.

got everything back together. axles spun freely when car was off. put 2.3 quarts of honda mtf in and turned the car on. keep in mind while the tranny was out, i did NOT push the clutch in.

problems:

start the car and let clutch out: weird sound - kinda like a grinding/vibrating sound. push clutch back in and it goes away.

put the car in neutral and the wheels spin...wtf.

cant go into gear without forcing it. all gears.

now, most of those problems would at first imply that i put the tranny back together wrong. but i am 100% confident that i did it right. it went so smoothly. i took before and after pictures to compare. everything spun freely.

i need help desprately. if i cant get it today, im taking the car to a tranny place on monday, but i really dont want to. so help me fix this. thanks
