Default PROBLEMS..

I posted ths in the "All Motor" forum also.

Built Motor. B18C1 84mm JE 12.5.1 pistons, SK2 stg2 cams, Hondata (not tuned, waitng on Header-Tech header) + all the other goodies. The car over-heated for some unknown reason, changed the thermostat, flushed radiaitor and block, it was fine. Since then it started to burn alot of oil. Now after all the money I have dumped into this car it feels like a piece of crap to me. I suspect the burning oil problem would most likely be the valve seals. Do you think the car over-heating damaged the valve seals?
Did a compression test yesterday. 240 across the board. Seems low to me. Any input on my problem would be great. Save my car before I drive it into a wall. Thank you.

Hmmm... so it burning when you accelerate then slowly going away or is a constant burning. If it is the later I'm guessing it might be rings or head gasket as opposed to valve seals. What makes you think it is the valve seals?

I thought it was the seals bc like I said it over heated and I figured that the high temp would have ruined them. It smokes on start up, between shifts and decelleration. Not losing any antifreze and the plugs look perfect. I posted this in the "All motor" section. They said the head may be cracked. I sure hope not but it is possible. Thanks for the response. Please express any other ideas.

Well from what you just stated I might have to agree with the valve seal theory. Your compression does look good, try a leak down test and that should be able to isolate the problem for you before you have to tear it apart.

Thanks man. I just wanted to get other opinions. Im gonna see I will try a leakdown test or I may just rip the head off and bring it to the machine shop. It so easy to take off with the SK2 IM compared to the stock (prob less than an hour) Its just more money I have to spend to now with the machnir shop
Thanks again man.
