Default Problem Starting up

Hi,

I am having trouble with my civic and its driving me crazy.
I have a 98 Ek4 Sir civic with a b16a motor with PCT 82mm pistons and cams.

Occasionally I have an issue starting up where it just keeps cranking and refuses to start.

I have checked for spark and there is spark.
I have a fuel pressure regulator and FP guage the guage reads fine at 40psi.
I tried changing the ECT sensor.
When i do get the car to start there is a very strong fuel smell.
Like if i get it to start consistently like 6 out of 6 within a space of 20 mins and then I put it into reverse and stall purposely then i try to start back it just cranks over and over. And to get it to start i have to either mash the accelerator when cranking and sometimes that doesn't work especially if i don't mash the accelerator on the first cranking attempt. Then I have to either push start it or leave it alone for a while
( I usually would leave it at home and try again in the night or following morning). When it does start it is fine and runs like a beast.

I havn't the slightest clue what todo.

There are no check-lights
It also has a greddy emanage ultimate installed , however i don't want to remove this unless it is a last resort. I have tried loading a stock map onto it and still the problem persists.

Thanks for any help
