Default problem getting keeper off, help pretty please

well, i got 15 of 16 valves off, the last one is being a pain in the ****!!!!!!!!i've spent the same amount of time on the last one, that i 've spent on taking the other 15 out...grrrrr

i have tapped it many times, oiled it, wd40 the keeper, ...each time i compress it, the valve moves...but the keeper wont budge...

should i get a different type of compressor? (the head is out) tempted to drill that sucker out....
i have the valvespring compressor similar to snap-on where it is bolted on top of of the head with the bar going across... any tips is greatly appreciated.

Use a clamp/vise grip, etc to somehow clamp the valve shut. The tool you are using (if it's what it sounds like) is meant for the head on motor, and you pressurize the cylinder to keep the valves closed. WHen the head is off there is a compressor that clamps around the head, holding the valves shut.

Be patient with it.

Push it all down to bind the spring. Let it come up a little and then give it a quick push all the way down again. Use the magnetic pickup tool to help it along.

Just bounce it up/down with some good effort. It'll come up.

Yeah, i've done that...trust me...i'll try again though...i might just end up getting a different spring compressor, one that keeps the valve shut, i'm thinking that would work without tooooo much effort.

yeah, i've done that with a 17 socket, fits pretty good around the retainer....tapped many times...
sgt, didn't do the rag though, i've put a little socket where the valve was sitting, i'll try the rag hope this works...
