Default price of machine work.

i called up the machine shop that will be doing all of my bottem end work. the prices seem a bit high, on the other hand i relize it is a shitload of work. post how much you paid and what you done.
bore and hone cylinders, deck block, line bore mains, removing old pistons from rods, installing arp rod bolts, opening up itr pistons to fit non-r rods, installing new pistons on rods, sizing bearings, gapping rings, balancing assembly. the only thing he is supplying is the rod bolts. he said 1400-1600.
also does anybody know about a ball bearing that is pressed into the crank? he said they remove it for some reason, but i couldn't follow him on that. if anyone knows more about it, i would appreciate it.
