Default Preloading the clutch

Im confused on how this is properly accomplished, could someone explain this to with me. Ive done a search on this and came back with one topic that didnt answer my question..

Are you talking about the clutches in an LSD? Those are about the only ones I can think of that you can preload.

the only clutch that I can think of besides a differential type clutch that is preloadable is a drag clutch for a high horsepower car.

You are able to set preload, counter balance, initial clamping force, etc

please be more specific about what you are trying to ask

I think the thread creator refers to let the clutch out slightly so that the car will creep forward, then pull the e-brake, set rpms at launch rpm, release clutch and launch. They do this to be easier on the axles as easy and to not spin that much off the line.

Note: All this is what I've heard.

Thats what I mean, I dont know if its any diff with lsd though besides maybe both axles getting loaded before launching
