I have a 92 civic 1.5 L with a stock engine...bought the car a month ago and am trying to figure out whats causing my powerloss...theres no check engine light...powerloss is bad up hills but wven on flat roads its not as fast as any other stock hondas ive driven....overall theres a powerloss issue...what could it be that its not triggering a CEL?

 

codes are only triggered by electrical faults.no cel means it could be any combination of hundreds of possible mechanical faults. rings, valves, valve lash adjustment, basic maintenance of tune up stuff, blown gasket, fuel pump, fpr, the list goes on and on and on.

do a full tune up; plugs and wires - NGK ONLY FOR BOTH!!, cap and rotor, air filter, fuel filter, oil change, valve lash adjustment, and a beer

 

So only electrical faults cause cel...so it wouldnt be my o2 sebsors then

 

SOUNDS LIKE A BAD/CLOGGED CAT CONVERTER.....
