Power Problem - HELP
Hi, I've had a 93 Del Sol for about a year now. The owner before me did virtually no maintenance on the car whatsoever. As of now, there are approximately 40k original on it. Now, on to my problem..
I know the car is supposed to be an 8.8 second car (0-60 mph) (for the Si, which I have)
The problem is that it takes about 8.8 seconds just to get to about 35. A few things I've switched to try and fix the problem are.
New fuel filter
New spark plugs (iridium)
New wires (10.2mm)
Transmission flush (black sledge came out)
Fuel cleaning service (car moved about 3x smoother)
New exhaust from the cat
All of these things are what brought it to the 8.8 (0-35). Before, it was even worse, about 13-14 seconds to 35.
I'm going to switch the distributor this afternoon, but I’m sure that still won’t bring it to where it should be. If anyone has any idea how to get the car to where it should be, I'd really appreciate it. I don't want to even bother with performance mods till I can get it to where the factory specs are.
