power limit of b16a tranny

power limit of b16a tranny

Im planning on going turbo in the next few weeks and i was wondering how much power can a stock b16 tranny hold without breaking on me

I may be wrong but I think only shock from a hard launch on a very sticky tire will break any tranny. not the fact that it has lots of power.

I believe your right. If your launching on slicks you'll probably drop your tranny. Or you'll break an axel first.

the weak link is the differential.
but it should be ok if you treat it right( not lots of sticky slicks) for moderate power levels

I knew this one guy that broke his stock diff first time at the track. he had a 99 si with azines all motor.

i broke my diff once on a stock b16 motor. upgraded to quaiffe, pushing 502hp and haven't broke the tranny, axles break first.
