Default portmatch question

Im looking to buy a new IM for my car- so let me give some info be fore i start
b18c1 with forged bottom (no sleeves) 9.5:1, eagle rods, head has supertech valvetrain (full) but no porting

turbo setup is inline pro mani, Tial 38mm, with 2.5"DP to 3", sc34 turbo
so I am still using stock IM and have not tuned the new setup yet and before i do i was wondering if it would limit my power potential-- keep in mind i have stock sleeves and this is my only car so i can blow the motor-- gotta play it safe but still want to get close to full potential-- careful on the sleeves.

i have seen how IMs help change the curve TQ and HP
THere is a member here trying to sell an Edelbrock IM- but it is ported to flow with a PORTFLOW head and a 68mm TB, if my head is not ported and im using stock TB- how will that affect me

will i have any leaks or will the hondata gasket be enough to get a good seal

if the diameter of the runners on the manifold are bigger than the head, its gonna create a big restriction for airflow. just think of it from the point of view as the air comming into your engine, there is a giant metal restrictor between the head and the manifold. anything that slows incomming air is bad.

now for a boosted application i dont know what kind of flow change you are looking at here, but i know it makes a big difference on a NA engine.

Even though it's matched to a different head,I doubt that Tom would make the port match bigger then the heads port entrance, and since Honda's are pretty close to the gasket size from the factory in most cases I'd say that your probably ok,but w/o seeing it I can't say for sure.

so in other words since my head is not ported -- dont take the chance- just keep shopping and find a nonported one...

because if i dont i may have flow probs
