i just dropped a jdm itr motor into my 92 eg. i started it up and drove it for 15 min. until the gauge cluster went dead then the headlights turned off and i lost all power. the car started sputtering and eventually died. i figured it was the alternator so i got a used alternator at h-auto and put it in. the car worked perfect for the whole day then did the exact same thing. no cluster, no power, dead!
i checked grounds, fuses, battery connection etc. what are the chances that the alternator died again. it WAS a used one. i'm thinking of just getting the alternator rebuilt so i know that it's new. what do you guys think? could it be anything else besides that?
