Default Please help with my MSD

That is it really....I have been trying to wire my MSD for about 2 weeks, and I have had no luck. I know there has got to be at least one person on this site who has, or knows how to wire a 6A MSD to an F series distributor. Somebody please help.

did you try their website? http://www.msdignition.com maybe they have a wiring diagram for your car. or maybe your wiring diagram will be the same as the b-series engine. also try http://www.c-speedracing.com or maybe you can email them directly on how to wire it. hth.

Save yourself the trouble and take it to a shop to do it.

If im correct it should almost be or if not similar to a b series one right? But first off, is it a JDM or USDM distributor? If it is a JDM you should have an internal coil inside the distributor and it should be alot simplier to expalin and wire up. When you look at the distributor cap, holding the distributor cap towards you with the flat distributor housing is faced up. Take the cap off and you should see the ignitor, coil and the whole 9 yards, right behind the rotor. You need to take the rotor off to get the coil out of there in the first place to use the MSD external coil. So remove the internal stock coil from the distributor. On the coil it should tell you which wiring is neg(-) and which is pos(+). When you figure that out, drill a whole thru the new distributor cap from MSD and stick the 2 wires from the MSD ignition box thru the hole. (positive and negative, should be a white and black wire). NOTE*** dont criss/cross wire you could short out the whole wire harness***. Wire the (-) white wire from the MSD ignition box to the negative of the stock ignitor inside the distributor. Next wire the positive (black) wire to the positive of the ignitor. After you are comlete with that check to see if there arent any lose wire's dangling inside the distributor. Keep all wires fat away from the distributor rotors as possible.

Whew...what a long discription. I might as well write a book. LoL... Hope this info is good enough for you to get your msd working. if you dont understand a thing i said ill try to clearify it better next time.

GOOD LUCK
