I put my motor in a little while ago(B16) and when i wen to start it the fan comes on but the starter dosent turn over. I also tried to start it by using a remote starter switch but the same thing happens the fan comes on but the starter dosent turn. I know the starter is getting power but its the wierdest thing, has any got any ideas?

can you hear the starter spinning? Make sure the wires are secure on the starter. What happens when you try to start it, does it click or what?

 

starter dosent do ****, instead of the starter " turning over" there is power going to the fan on the rad. When you turn the key all the way over like you are starting the car the fan comes on until you let the key go. Weird i know, cant figure this out. The starter is getting power because i tested the power wire to the starter, and it works.

 

Is it getting power when you try and turn the key over? Almost sounds you have the wiring backwards between the starter and fan somewhere. Have you tried starting it by bypassing the ignition switch?

Is it auto or 5speed?

 

5 speed but the clutch switch isnt hooked up, Also i cant hear my fuel pump prime.

 

what do you mean the clutch switch isnt hooked up? It has to be hooked up and pushed in to start the car.

 

no it dosent need to be hooked up, never had the thing hooked ever since i got the car three years ago.

 

Did you hook up the main ground wire to the tranny?

 

no i didnt, i will do right now. have you had trouble with that before?
