Multiple key turns to start??
Hey Folks,
I bought my Si used and when i bought it, it had this little button on the keyring. Dealer told me it was a kill switch and i had to hold it to start it. I call BS because my car starts the same way without it. (It is now broken)
Heres what it does:
I turn the key and hear the fuel pump prime, but nothing... no click or attempt to turn over. I try it again and its the samething. About the fourth turn it fires up like nothing ever happened. Is anyone familiar with this kind of thing? Maybe my starter?? or that so-called "killswitch"??? every time I explain it to someone, their response is, "Thats kinda weird". haha. Let me know what you think it could be.

You will need to check for power at the starter lead at the starter motor when you are not getting any cranking, to narrow down the problem.
If there is power at the starter lead but no cranking the problem is the starter or starter solenoid, if no power then it may be the "kill switch" ign. switch, starter relay or CIS, [if a manual] or the A/T Gear Position Switch, [if an auto]
You can also try a bypass jump to narrow it down...
