Default PLEASE HELP!!! BROKE 3 AXLES in less than 24 HOURS!!!

whats up guys, I need help BAD! It started like this, I was being a dumbass and went to do a burnout. BANG! broken driver side axle. I replaced it today, everything went smoothly, I put it in first gear and drove out slowly, CRUNCH!! another axle! So I brought it back to the parts store and got another one, CRUNCH! bearings flying out and axles keep breaking. I have replaced many axles and know what I am doing. Install is cake. Only thing I noticed is on the last axle, when I tighten the 32 mm nut, and bolt everything back together, it kinda pulls the axle outta the tranny. not sure why. What would cause this and cause me to break 3 driver side axles in less than 24 hours!! When I install the axle I never do anything stupid like pull on it or anything. The install is really smooth and easy, I never have to like get rough with it or anything to get in the tranny or in the hub. BUt like I said I notice that when everything is torqued down and in place, it seems the axle is pulled out of the half shaft a bit. motor mounts look ok as far as I can tell. Im just really not knowing what is going on right now and Im stuck without a car for the weekend. Is there anyway to test the motor mounts or something? Could something be outta line or not in place or something? Setup is in my sig. Has anyone ever experienced this? Is it my tranny? clutch? Thanks for everyones time and help and any feedback is always appreciated.

on the tranny side. not towards the hub and tire, but on the inside.

Sounds like axle to short your parts supplier may be giving u the wrong axle they may have a wrong parts listing. It sounds like your getting a 89 integra axle it about 1/2" shorter. Try another parts store

Yup, it sounds like you may be getting too short of an axle. Check and make sure you're getting the right one first.

The 3rd axle was actually from a Napa parts store while the first 2 were from a local parts store named Greco's. So its happened to 3 different axles from 2 diffrent stores. The axle that broke while doing a burnout was from Grecos and it was in my car for like 3 weeks. i also installed that one and I was not having any problems until the burnout last night. I brought it back because it was under warranty and they gave me the 2nd one no charge. They said they werent giving me a 3rd one so I went to Napa. Napa axle did same thing. Its gotta be something with my car that I messed up while doing that stupid *** burnout. I've learned my lesson about burnouts So 2 different stpres with the same results. Its gotta be something

Snapping an axle from doing a burnout won't cause any problems that will cause the future axles to snap.

If your 100% sure your motor didn't move or you don't have a loose or broken mount. Does your axle spin after you install it ,does your interm. shaft spin also when axle is out . and everything pretaining to your lower control arm looks good its to short of a axle. if it pulls out when you tighten the axle nut and all of the above are right its the wrong axle

is your car lowered alot? I don't see it being that much of a problem in a 'teg, the axles are pretty straight, (I'm running a H22 in a EG) but I used to snap axles (well, 1/2 shafts) ALL the time, until I adjusted my coilovers up about 1/4", haven't broke one since. I've had alot of built hondas, and when you get to a certain point in power, those stock axles are gonna go. Just save yourself future headaches, and go out and invest in a set of stage 2 or 3 half shafts.

sounds to me like your putting in too small of an axle, it should be a tight fit between the hub and the tranny... no movement at all...

today is bad axle day. lol. I went to the store three times today for axles. I agree with the rest, the axles are too short.

i have seen axles get hyper extended a few times and everytime it was the mounts. Some thing must be wrong between your hub/suspension and the transmission. Check the rear mount and most important the bracket that is bolted to the rear mount and the tranny.

i had the same problem, saem driver side axle. ive only replaced it once (yesterday) well see how long it lasts. what happened to the first axle was the inner pivot was sized. this pulled the axle and intermediate shaft in and out of the tranny about 1/2 centimeter, this also made alot of noise
