just wondering, how can i clean off the black buildup on my pistons?

out of the motor? soak 'em in gas or wd40 then wipe em
in the motor? fill each cyl with carb cleaner thru spark plus holes, let soak over night, crank motor so it all blows out of holes, change oil, put plugs back in and go....

not so sure I would try the wire brush idea, wouldn't that scratch everything up pretty badly?
