Default piston to wall clearance

ok guys i got 81mm srp pistons and i did the ring gap and everything thing is in spec but i want to know what to run my piston to wall clearnce cuz im going to be running some boost and i read on here that you need to run them looser to make the motor last longer and i need to know where you you guys check your piston to wall clearance at on the top of the piston when its in or what need help thanks

No you need to run them looser because forged pistons expand more.

Piston to wall clearance is measured 1/2" down the skirt of the piston, across the pin hole, and perpendicular to the pin hole.

The bore is measured 1/2" to 3/4" down with either a snap T gauge and micrometer, an inside micrometer, or dial bore gauge. This is the most accurate way. But you can also use a feeler gauge with the piston in the bore.

Specs are based on manufacturer, and no one knows parts better than the people who manufacture them. Call them and ask.
