from what I've been told they put load on the spider gears and the differential pin. The honda cable tranys already have problems with the strength the differentials. I have no experience with one so i cant tell you how they work.

I have a friend with one in his turbo'd h23 prelude. it locks the tires after one tire spins 1 revolution or so. Torque steer like crazy. It works and it wasn't that hard to put in.... if you aren't scared of transmissions and their inner workings. DO NOT run slicks with it tho because it will more than likely snap the diff because they aren't designed to handle that kind of load. Thats why they leave them open so excess power will just be transmitted to spinning a tire.

I believe they also use a bit of power to turn them due to the increased friction. this is why torsen type diffs are the the best. More efficient (think less drive train loss) and even more traction by applying power to the wheel with more traction.

QUAIFE FTW!!!!

It is well worth the money to step up to a real diff. Sure it costs $600 more but its about the same level of difficulty for install plus they have a lifetime warranty.

so don't go with the phantom grip...is that what you guys are advising me? but here are some things about my car you should probably know...

first..... its an automatic! lol
second....i'm just gonna use this car to cruise, BUT if someone wanted to test me while i was on the highway or something, i just wanted it to be known, not to... get it?

so i was thinking with this "LSD kit" at least i would have a little more power if needed be...but again its not necessary for me to have it...just wondering if its worth it to buy cause someone is going to sell it to me for $120 brand new...but if it really sucks...then forget about it

...and i do know how to drive stick...just got tired of it cause no one else knew how and that would leave me assed out as the Designated (sp?) driver....hahaha

thanks again...but i guess the question is still should i get it, or not?

no, a phantom grip is not going to help you in any way especially on the highway. You will not make any more power with it. The only way it helps is if you have traction probs from a 'dig'. i.e. a drag race.

save your money.
