Default Phantom Grip LSD

I'm thinking about getting LSD. Is the Phantom any good? What are it's limitations?

closemindedness never got anyone anywhere! anyways, a bunch of my buddies are mechanics at a shop n tallahasse (in town), and claim that the phantom grip is safe, secure, and perfectly working up to around 300 horse power. but it is true that it is not a REAL lsd! It is a welded stock differential!

Depends on what you want to use the LSD for - As far as drag racing - the phantom may suit you fine. If youy're into auto-x,HPDE,road-racing, etc. - the Phantom "LSD" is not for you - A quaife is a good investment!

I have heard that the phantom is not very street-able, chatters around turns and such, not to mention they can break and kill the tranny, I bought a quaife, not yet installed
http://www.nolimitmotorsport.com/ bought it from this site

I ran one on my old setup (350whp)...it worked quite well, and I managed 1.8sec 60' times on 22inch slicks (much better than without the phantom grip).

I did, however, blow it apart with the 500+ whp setup...and yes, it did totally demonlish the whole transmission (gears and all). I would recommend it for up to 300whp for drag racing.

wow, that held up quite well in your case. My buddy had one on his fully built integra and after he had it tuned to about 280whp you could see one wheel spinning more then the other. Anyways, thats just based on experience that i have seen first hand.

It honestly depends on the car. I've heard that Mazdas don't work so well b/c the springs they come w/ from the factory? And the Saturns run great w/ them...I had an opp. to get one a while back, i think it'd be great for the price.
