Phantom codes?

Default Phantom codes?

this ecu is throwing a code 78 but in the Honda book and online, it says there is no 78. and yes im positive it is a code 78. any idea what it could be? it is on a p28 thats in a 93 teg i believe (92 or 93)

An oddball code usually means it's an internal ECU problem. has it been chipped? That ecu came from a civic i think.

yeah the ecu was socketed and it was running on a chip

Contact whoever chipped it, and tell them, see if they know what's up. You don't want a random CEL, it could prevent you from realizing that you have a new one that is an indication of a real problem.

it stopped doing it... its really weird it only happens every once and a while. on a different ecu i had i was getting a phantom code of 68 and now this one is throwing a 78. has ne one else ever gotten phantom codes?
