Default Peeps with OBD1 ECU's. Simple Question.

When you get a CEL while driving, does it go away when you turn off your car and start it again?

Need to know, cuz mine does this.

That would indicate an intermitent problem like a short or a loose connection. Check all the wiring and clean all the connector contact points. I was getting a CEL on the intake air temp sensor and cleaning the contacts got rid of it.

Yes- it will be out when you restart- If it is a hard failure the light will come on for a few seconds and go out for short instance and come back on.

Thanks for the input...now I need a little more.

When I checked what was causing the CEL my CEL blinked once, really fast. Is this right? My OBD2 ECU would blink slowly for the first digit, and fast for the second. I am trying to figure out if this is a problem with my Hondata Unit or my car itself.

Sorry I have so many questions, but I don't have much experience with OBD1.

It blinked 1 short blink? -this is an O2 code and it is a single digit code. If it was a double digit code, say 43, it would blink 4 long blinks and 3 short blinks.

Yea, it blinked once really fast and that was it. I just replaced my O2 sensor with another used one, and I am still having the same bogging problem while my car is warming up...but that doesn't throw a code. Only when I slow down do I get a CEL....the funny thing is I took a 500 mile trip and I didn't get a CEL once.

Guess I will have to get a New O2 sensor.
