PCV Valve problems...I think?
I have a 2nd gen. integra with a B18A1 and I am rebuilding the engine. When I was removing the intake manifold I noticed that there was a small box underneath the manifold and there are two hoses going into it. One hose leads into the crankcase and the other goes into the bottom of the intake manifold but the hose going to the manifold was never hooked up. Would that be why the car never did idle very smooth and could that have led to any major problems that I would need to concern myself with... Thanks
yeah, concern yourself. then fix it.
That hose can only be ordered from the dealer, it goes from the black box up to the PCV valve, and has a cup molded into it. Its not just a normal hose.
That hose gets brittle and if you aren't very careful disconnecting it, the cup just snaps off. (look at your manifold, if your pcv valve is still attatched to it, the cup broke off. Its the thing that holds the PCV to the Manifold.
