By-Pass valve - WORTH IT?
i just bought a by-pass valve for my aem cai for $13 on e-bay. I know i got a bargain but is it worth cutting your pipe, wasting my time installing it, and losing some power? Or would my splash guard be good enough for preventing hydro-lock? what are my odds of hydrolock without the by-pass? thnx
Just leave all the plastic under you car and you will be fine. The bypass isn't worth it. #1 it defeats the purpose of having a COLD air intake. #2 it isn't neccessary. #3 It seems that over time the foam breaks up and can be sucked into your motor. If you are worried about water, get a short ram. Just don't floor it through 6" puddles and you shouldn't have any problems.
