P1259 Vtec Malfunction Problem
I have a fresh gsr motor that i rebuilt. The bottom end has gsr crank and rod with oversized ITR pistons. The head has a port and polish with supertech Valvetrain. Ctr cams and Skunk 2 cam gears.Blox manifold with stock throttle body. I just broke the motor in and when i get on it it chokes like there is no VTEC what so ever. When i try to get it up to vtec after i try to push it for a while the code p1259 comes up. I have more than enough oil. My Vtec Solenoid is good. I even switched it out with my friends. I am running on a stock 99 civic si p2t ecu. I need help with this..My oil pressure is good too..i have researched for a few days now and checked everything that i could any help would be good. I am also running a b16 obd2 distributor also
Sounds like a wiring problem. You may have a short. Do a continuity check between the vtec soleniod pin in the harness plug and the solenoid plug.
i fixed the problem i did a ls vtec line from the block to the head..i tested oil pressure at the block and it was in spec but i was bearly getting any pressure at the solenoid..
