VTEC engagement problem

Default VTEC engagement problem

I am having a problem with my vtec cutting out as I climb through rpms...I have good oil level, wiring is good, brand new vtec solenoid, and i hava already tried a different ecu to see if that was the problem...but the problem still persists...any help with this matter would be great thanks...the motor is a b16a2 in a 92 civic hb cx...anyone help please...

what do you mean cutting out through rpm, does it not engage at all or is it on, then off, then on kinda of a thing?

Check the pins of the plug that connect to the vtec soleniod and vtec pressure switch. Make sure they are clipped on tight and the pin isnt loose inside the plug...thats all i can think of good luck to you

Try a different distributor if you can. I had problems similar to yours and it turned out to be the distributor. Good luck

My buddy's car had the same prob, turned out it had a weak/bad alternator.
