Default Oversize Piston?

I am rebuilding a B18B engine. The machine shop that looked at the block says it needs to be bored .020". I have searched this site and others that say that is the maximum overbore a B series block can have before being resleeved.

The Helm's manual says the the service limit for the B18B and B18C is .25mm (.010). Machine shop says it will be OK, but I'm not sure I want to take the chance.

If it needs .5mm bore should I resleeve?

Don't have the $$$ to do it twice!

well you should be ok.... most oversized pistons come in .25 over. And the sefest u can bore out a block is 1mm(for all motor) and if you are going FI then the most u should take out is .5mm(which is about .25 ", what needs to be done to ur block)

I;m going NA, but the difference in the Honda specified service limit and what everyone says is "ok" to do bothers me. There is always great info on the board, I just want to do everything right the first time.

Why does the Helm's manual say the rebore service limit is .25mm?

Do I need to resleeve if I need to go over .25mm?

Anybody else have some info on this subject?
Thanks for the help.
