Default Overheating Problem. Pro's Please HELP!@@!

Ok I have a mildly built all motor gsr, in my 94 hatch and first warm day i noticed it was overheating. i figured my civic radiator was shot.. so i got a C&R radiator. the car still would overheat, I got a mugen thermostat and it would still overheat... i got a mugen temp switch and it still overheats. When i drive on the highway i am at like 190degrees then i slow down and i go over 220 usually. so i gotta pull over wait for it to cool down. My fan kicks at 200degrees... it used to be 220 until i put the mugen switch in there. The headgasket is fairly new and there is no milky appearance in the oil and there is no oil in the coolant. and the water pump was replaced not too long ago. But my question is.. how can i find the problem. How do i check if its my water pump and how do i check if its my headgasket. I know someone has the answer. ANything would really help me out.. thanks. FYI i have a temp sensor installed on the upper radiator hose and thats what i am getting the temp readings from. so when the temps are 200 coming out of the motor the fan turns on... but the car still overheats..

a water pump that is damaged leaks from the breather hole.
Anyway, did you tried the radiator cap?

Bleed all the air from the cooling system...Start the car and let it warm up with the Radiator Cap off...Add water as needed...You may have a cracked or warped head???

did you flush the coolant? if it was the water pump you would see water pouring out under the car.

like someone said it might be a crack in the head.

Well i am like 100% sure its not the radiator cap.. it was doing it with my stock cap.. and it was doing it with my C&R high pressure cap.. so its gotta be something else

If its ok when your driving and heats up when your stopped, check to make sure your fan is actually turning on

alright well after running a total diagnosis.. i am 99% sure its my headgasket which really pisses me off. but i was running my motor pretty advanced before.. and the thing that is giving it away is my overflow can keeps getting filled.. a sign of a blown headgasket.. i'll keep an update of what happens...

not to keep insisting, but, a broken radiator cap does that as well, it does release the pressure but it doesn't let the radiator suck in water from the overflow tank, try to do a leakdown and see if you see the bubbles on the radiator neck

ya but its not the radiator cap because... i know for a fact i was running like 22 degrees advanced for a while.. and that was my stock radiator stock cap.. now i have a c&r radiator with high flow cap and it does the same thing but its getting worse.. which i assume means the gasket is getting worse. either way i figure i will mill my head a little get some more compression and throw a new gasket on there.. just a lot of work i didnt feel like doing

i hear ya, i heard from someone on HT, that he used the radiator cap that came with his radiator and teh cap was like 22psi, and it blew his heater core, make sure you system is in good shape to take the 22 psi

yup... already done that.. and ya i am running like 19-21 psi cap.. but it only has a slight chance of blowing the core on an old highmileage car.. mine is still in good shape... not too worried about blowing my core right now...
