OT: Tire studs for winter
I've got a set of winter tires that are stud 'acceptable'. I got a price to get studs installed at a local tire place and he said 80 for all 4 wheels, mounted/balanced and studded.
He showed me the tool they use to do it.... it looks like a drill. My question is... is this something that I could do myself? If it is... how? Would I need the tool or is there another way to do it?
Sorry for posting in here... but I didn't know where else I could post it at.

First off, this would be the correct place to post this topic.
Second off, I wouldn't stud the tire myself, I'd go ahead and pay to have it done. If there's a problem with the tire later, then the fault will be on the shop, not on you. Not to mention that he's probably a lot more experienced at this than you are.
What you may want to do is get him to show you everything that needs to be done while he studs your tires so you can do it the next time around.
