Default Opening Tranny

Im selling a Y80 transmission. I am taking it off the B18C1 tonight. I want to get pics of the inside if possible to show possible buyers that its in good condition. I plan on draining the transmission oil before shipment too. My question is if I crack open the tranny is that going to ruin the gasket? Is it one of those things that shouldnt be re-used?

Thx

Yes, there is a gasket between the 2 tranny halfs and cant be used after opened... but thats why you use RTV to reseal the tranny halfs...

opening a tranny isnt hard, but if you dont know how to split the halfs, you can fight with it for hours...

you are going to need hondabond or a good sealent (permatex grey) to seal the halves again.

and if you dont know how to open a transmission i would get a helms. its not the hardest thing to do in the world but you could likley hurt yourself or damage the transmission if you do it wrong.
