ok my scenario im burnin lots of oil in my stock motor
its a 98 ls well lets start off by sayin that cyl, 1 has 130 2 has 130 3 has 100 and 4 has bout 50 sound like a bad head gasket or what anyone with expertice on this scenario help me out and yeah well it just had to happen this soon i am plannin on putting my lsvtec in now but not this soon maybe ill get it sooner then i think hahahah o well help me out guys thanks

first of all id say tha tyou didnt do the test properly!

but if you did:

you may have bad everythings - which can only be fixed by a tear-down...

you should pull hte engine before it dies on you...

if your burning lots of oil like you say you are......and you have compression test numbers like you just posted i would say that your gonna need more than a headgasket.

try oversized pistons with new rings and a block bore and hone.......cha ching!

 

lets just say hello to honda aftermarkt extended warranty pamphlet hehehe

and by the way what exacly is the right compession of a ls motor ??

In fact your numbers are low across the board.. if you had a compression reading of 50psi in a cylinder then you should have noticed the car running/idleing very poorly.. you haven't stated this.. you may want to recheck your readings..

Don't assume its automatically covered under warranty and don't be caught "off guard"...techs have to determine what exactly what went wrong with your car in order to warranty the problem... But don't listen to me.. I'm not really a tech.. I just post as one on this forum

well it comes to this it seems like it lost power and everything but really if its not covered thn screw it im just tryin to get mymotor fixed before i take it out so i got a good ls motor thats all i might as well us the warranty if i can so thanx for the help anyway but u see its called if ur cool with the people that work at the dealer than its straight otherwise o well im out
