I remember on mine, it was just a small brass fitting that looked like the stock water temp sensor. I remember that using it was going to more of a pain in the *** than it was worth. I'm a wuss, so I got the vdo unit that uses the oil drain plug as a sensor. Sold the autometer to my neighbor.

Downfall is that it does not give you the oils temp right out of the head, but it's good enough for me considering I don't have any new bottle necks where I could have an oil leak. Ups and downs.

Sorry I'm not that helpful. There are plenty of ways to use the stock autometer stuff, it's just a little harder on our imports than the american car guys.

well i found out that i got the wrong one. i was suppose to get the oil pressure guage not the oil temp guage, that is probably why it didn't come with a sending unit.
