Default Oil Pump Lifespan

I tried to search this, but what is the average lifespan of an oil pump? I have a 98 ls going into my crx and the engine has 83k on it. I really don't want to drop $100 on an oil pump if its gonna last til I do the timing belt again (another 60k miles).

yep, if an engine was taken care of, and had nothing bad happen(read; bearing failures or anything that will send metal particles to the oil pump)and used no aftermarket non dampened crank pulley; then the oil pump should have a long long life...

i would say check clearances and if they are good....hit it.
i checked clearances on my 134k oil pump and they were dead on...
