Default Oil problem

Last night will driving my eg my oil light came on and i knew it was kinda wierd because like a month ago we change the oil and everything and it hasnt been drove but maybe like 3-4 times in that month, but it does have a oil leak but not serious enough to make it lose that much oil. Also i cleaned the vtec sileniod the other day. Do you think that could cause it to do that? maybe i did something wrong, and also before the oil light even came on vtec wasnt engaging. It has oil in it cause we checked it today.
SO does anyone know what it could be?!?!

it might not a matter of having low oil, i would check your oil pressure. If it is low it won't allow vtec to engage which would also give you the oil light. Theres not much you can mess up with the solenoid just a sensor and a screen.

you could go buy a gauge and see what it says. it may be your pump

your oil pump is what keeps the pressure up, if you do have a bad pump then no theres nothing you can do to build the pressure up. Just buy a cheapo mechanical gauge, remove your pressure switch screw the gauge in there, and see what it tells you. I think it should be like 15-20 at idle and like 75-80 in vtec

my dad thinks my oil pump is cloged up from all the slug i got in the motor. I took the valve cover off and it had nothing but caked up oil all in and under it and he thinks that stuff is clogging the oil pump.

Question now is....Can you take the oil pan off without having to take the engine out of the car? j/w

yeah it looks exactly like that or well not that bad now cuz i scraped a lil off of it but not enough to help it and my dad thinks thats why im gettin the oil light cuz i scraped some off and it clogged the oil pump.

edit: but it wasnt my fault it got like that. I guess i should be more careful when buying a car
