Oil Pressure Issue, Can someone please help
Alright, So I just picked up a new hatch with a B16A. On cold startup, the oil light is on for about 3-4 seconds. Very occasionally the oil light will flicker.
I have rewired the vtec pressure switch and solenoid from the ECU. It IS a chipped ecu, but I have also tried a P30 and get the same issue.
For some reason the motor does not pop vtec hard, I think its happening, but very minutely. I have had many vtec bseries motors and none have not hit vtec hard, or at least been distinguishable.
So, a couple questions.... If the vtec oil pressure switch is bad, could this be causing both of the problems ? Random oil light, and light flickering seldomly, and barely hitting vtec if any ?
Also I noticed the oil pan is pushed up quite a ways in the middle, right around where the pickup is... I was assuming if the gap between the bottom of the pan and the pickup was to small it would be lacking oil
could the oil pressure switch be causing this problem ?? Any help would be super appreciated.

I should also mention, after driving the car for about 10 minutes every time after I reset the ECU, it will check engine for CEL 22 (Vtec Oil pressure switch) Would this cause vtec not to pop ?
I really want to know if the vtec oil pressure switch could be causing a oil light problem if it was bad, cuz if not I have bigger problems.

1st, vtec works or it doesn’t.. if vtec is working check something else. like your vtec oil pressure swith.
What I would be most concern about is the oil pan being pushed up on your oil pick up. I know for a fact that that could cause your pressure problems. Drop the pan and see if the pan hit the pickup in a way that it loosened or separated the pickup from the pump. Good luck with the problem. I hope you get it solved soon.
