Default oil pickup question

Hey,
as many of you know my vtec dosent work ( https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=127578 )
myself and friends have narrowed it down to oil pressure.
so im starting at the bottom and working up (litterally)
my oilpan has a dent about .25-.5 inches all the way around the bottom
i pulled the pan and im curious if the pickup could have been damaged as well
having never done this before i dont know what to look for in a damaged pickup
any information would be helpful
thanks everyone
Joe

well it will be bent.....
it's thin metal so it should be obvious...

Have you put an oil pressure gauge on the car...
also look for chunks of metal when you pull your pan

are you throwing any codes?

its possible the oil pan is dented enought to restrict flow to the pickup- did you ever try hooking up 12 volts+ to the vtec solenoid?

thats why i posted the link to the other thread
ive done everything short of oil pressure testing because i have no gauge. heres a rundown
no CEL
oil light comes on when car is cold for 10-15 seconds
solenoid is good (12v test)
no open connection to/from ecu on ethire plug so the only thing left is oil related
and yes the pan can be dented enough to cause a lack of oil pressure, its a pretty severe dent. there is a trioval shaped place on the bottom of the pan where the paint is scraped off/dented back down directly over where the pickup should sit.
i took pictures so ill show everyone when i get em developed.

also, does anyone know how much a new pickup would run from honda?
