Default Dent Oil Pan

Could this have cause the vtec not to engage anymore because the vtec was working properly and a couple of days ago i hit a rock that dented my oil pan right next to the oil drain bolt and now i dont hear vtec anymore.. Or could it be electrical problems before the rock accident, vtec wants to work it will work and sometime it doesnt..

Maybe the dent is causing low oil pressure. When there is low oil pressure, VTEC is not going to engage. If there is not enough oil, VTEC will not engage. Do you have any CELs or any other lights come on? Try removing the oil pan, bash the dented part out and check if that helps. It's probably the problem.

If oil doesnt travel up the oil pump then yes VTEC wont work. A dented oil pan could be the cause.

if the oil preasure light is not on then i would say that the dent is not the problem, most likely an electrical problem, or you may just be low on oil
