OIL leak, wtf?
I took my car to get an oil change the other day...anyways, I have an oil leak...jack it up, there is oil all over the underside of the pan...no apparent cracks, I think I might change the oil....what should I torque the oil drain bolt to (96 sol). Also, id be going from mobil one 5w-30 to penzoil synthetic 10w-30....is this ok, even without replacing the oil filter? The filter was replaced prolly 1k miles ago.
THANKS GUYS!

Re: (T25So)
uh i work at a lube shop and we just tighten it by hand than give it 2 or 3 good tugs with a wrench, make sure you replace the drain plug gasket, thatll help too

jsut curious, why are you going to 10W-30 synthetic, are you boosted? Also i would do as mentioned earlier, and check the oil pan gasket. also just to be one the safe side i would check the oil filter, to make sure its tightly secured.

yeah you shouldnt do 10W-30
and i doubt its the oil filter, cause even a small filter leak will spwe oil everywhere very noticably when you turn the car on
