Default Oil leak...Help!

I finally got my motor back last night. For those that didn't know I blew my piston rings so I had new stock pistons, bearings, rings, etc. installed by a professional shop. We got the motor in, cranked it over to build oil pressure, then started it. It ran good for about 3 seconds and then I started to hear a bubbling noise. I looked in the motor and saw oil spewing out of the back of the head where it meets the block. It was really hard to see where it was coming from but Im pretty sure it was coming from this area. I supplied a brand new head gasket for the shop, and you can see it so I know they installed it. There is only one way to put it on (unless you are a total idiot) so I know that can't be the problem. The only thing I can think of is that they didn't torque the head bolts but they insist that they did and it is only leaking out the back. Were not talking about a little oil here. It made a lake in my driveway. What else could it be? The shop was saying something about an oil sensor. They can't get it in till Friday. Help anyone?

Yeah, it could be that they forgot to put the oil sensor back in or on tight enough. I'm skeptical as to whether or not it's the head gasket though, becaust you'd most likely be getting coolant leaking before oil. Does the majority of the oil seem to be coming from the timing belt side or the distributor side?

Distributor side. Could they have overtorqued the head bolts and damaged the head gasket? Where exactly is the oil sensor located?

the oil sensor is to the left of the oil filter...maybe the oil filter wasn't screwed in enough...

That was my first thought. Look for the simple stuff first.

what about that black box thing that deals with oil, i think its called something like a oil screen or baffle or something, and doesnt it have rubber gaskets that go on the box thing into the block? and its on the distributer side too, just an idea. good luck

yea thats the black oil separator box for the pcv system. that would leak oil if it weren't connected but i don't think it would spew out like you describe. It is on the distributor side of the block though.
