Default off subject about impact guns..

now i just bought my first setup for air tools. i have a crappy husky 1/2 impact gun rated at 225ft/lbs, hooked up to a 10 gal tank. my question is that it can get off almost any nut and bolt on my car. But i am having one hell of a time getting the damn crank bolt loose. The air tank has a max of 125psi, and will not go any higher. Should I be looking into a better impact gun? Lets say something that has a max of 775ft/lbs. Some body please school me on this subject....

search search search.

Crank pulley bolt and axle- nuts like to have >140 PSI on the air compressor

Also make sure that you are a using a REAL impact socket, and not a chrome socket.

Also hit the bolt/nut with quick reperative (1 second) blasts on the air gun.

Look closely at the tank for a Max Pressure Rating.

Your tank might be rated for 150, but has a shut-off at 125.

Also look for a blow-off (pressure relief valve) and see what it's rating it.

You might be able to adjust your pressure shut-off switch to higher PSI than 125
