OEM Oil Filter Update
that fram thing sucks!
the oil comes out sooooo slow. i like the high speed the oil comes out with the bolt. it makes me feel like more stuff thats settled in the pan is going to get swept out.
i tried the fram thing because it seemed like a good idea, now i have 3 of them i refuse to put on any car.

I let my oil drain for a 1/2 hour so the speed didn't matter. I also thought of the settlement issue like you mentioned, but I don' t think it's a big deal. I like it.

Except the Trasko doesn't require a Remote oil line and is a direct replacement for the OEM filter. The Trasko has such good filtration that you never really need to change your oil just add some when needed. It keeps the oil as clean as when you first put it in. Even though they are pricey, they only require a new element every 10,000 miles after your first initial change after the first 5,000 miles. I would think that having your oil crystal clean all the time would be more beneficial than dirty at 3,000 miles with a regular filter considering none of the cantaminents are making it back into your engine with the Trasko!</TD></TR></TABLE>
Hey bro, are you planing on getting one of these "Trasko" filters soon? Because you seems pretty set on it..and i really wanna see how well it works!? Make sure to do a write-up on it if you do..and PM me with the link..!

Last case I ordered is "POH" filters.
I got a case today and it's "PLM" filters.
I change oil on Honda Prelude, Civic, S2000 and Acura Integra.
Can someone confirm they work ine? Thanks in advance.

I got some PLM filters from Manchester Honda. When I ordered them, they said PLMs will fit on anything that took the older P0H or PT7 filters. After they're gone, you won't be able to get the old ones any more. The new K engines have to take the skinny new filters because some stuff is in the way & the fatter filters won't fit.
I haven't had my '03 Accord long enough to change the oil yet...
Does anyone know if the new ones have as much (or less) filter media as the old ones? Are the old ones bigger just because of empty space in the can?

If it applies to all, very cool...increased oil pressure.</TD></TR></TABLE>
so you guys are saying the smaller the filter the more better the oil pressure?
i "upgraded" mine to a larger than stock mobil 1 which would give me more surface area for filtering and cooler oil.
so which will give a better overall performance- smaller, OEM, or larger

Just some thoughts...
A. ALL conventional filters (well actually the engine side of it)... recirculates oil UNFILTERED... when the pressure is too high for the filter...
If you want a SERIOUS oil filter...check this out... (there was a good write up on one here but I can't find it...)
http://tech.hybridgarage.com/tech/cmfilter/
or search google for "canton/mecca oil filter"
They filter better... are relocated allowing for high capacity... and I believe they're available with a TRUE all aluminum heatsink design...

yeah that filter was already posted.
but this "Trasko" Filter is suppose to filter down to 1/10 of a micron! although its still retains a bypass pressure release that will recirculate unfiltered oil from time to time...
Maybe the "Trasko" filter would be better for a non-sport car that sees little high oil pressure so filtration is constant.
..and the "C/M" filter is better for a performance car that sees high oil pressures and can handle full oil pressure without bypassing. filtering at 8 microns.
?

i was in the shop looking for some parts and i found a case of the older oil filters that were made in the us before they let fram make them in canada ... i put them to the side for my personal use .....
just get the filter for the s2000 itll fit
just remember 2 things flow n filtration...id rather have dirty oil flow than have a filter that didnt let it flow

Would it be okay to use that filter though just to make life easier persay...if it filters that good and such, I'm not looking to highten my oil pressure just better cleaning like the AD says...

id say if it does what it says then why not! id buy a trasko filter for my moms minivan or my dads lexus but i not sure if id put it on my teg because i my car see high rpm/oil pressure everyday!
im highly considering the C/M filter right now.. Spin-On of course.. ..if only the made Fins on it too so it can double as an oil cooler..

I will never use those Trasko filters again! The filter media is so restrictive that
the filter blew off the mount by about 1/4" and I lost about 2 quarts of oil instantly, this was on a B16a2
Nevertheless I just stick with OEM Honda
