Default Odyssey brakes

Hi-

Are there any aftermarket sloted front rotors that I can replace the factory ones with? I have a 2000 Odyssey EX, and the factory brakes are not up to the job. I would like to replace the rotors and pads.

Thanks in advance, Troy

try some better pads. crossdrilled rotors probably wont give you the preformance you're looking for.

p.s. i did a quick search for them and couldnt find anything. found em for a 97 tho....

double check the size of the odyssey rotor. I think those may be 12" or 11.8" in diameter, would they even fit?

Hi All-

Thank you for the replies. When I say not up to the job I am referring to normal everyday driving. The van has plenty of acceleration/pep, and handles VERY well for a van. However the braking is less than exceptional. Even though it is a van, I still expect to be comfortable with the stopping distance and be able to rely on them in emergency situations. As of now they the stopping is way too long, and under hard braking the front brakes vibrate hard(chatter) before the ABS kicks in.

I hate to say this, but I drive an 01 VW Golf 1.8T with 18" wheels and Toyo T1 Proxies. The stock brakes on that coupled to the big sticky tires is simply incredible. I am chipping the Golf this weekend, and will be upgrading the brakes on it to 12.3" 2 piece floating rotors and 4 piston Wilwood calipers next month. While telling my wife about it, she said "I wish you would do something to my brakes" so here I am. Kinda difficult to find aftermarket parts for Odysseys though, and not much written about them.

The Odyssey has 16" alloy wheels, and the rotors/calipers fill almost all of it so replacing the rotors could only be with the same size rotor, just a different type. I was hoping to find a slotted rotor and better pads. I am also interested in braided hoses too. The rears will just get new pads and hoses if possible. But I still have not been able to find the factory specs on the Odyssey brakes. I am looking to find the following:

1) Factory front rotor size
2) Factory front rotor bolt pattern
3) Factory front brake pad information
4) Any after market parts for front brake components
5) Any aftermarket parts for rear brakes

Any assistance on this matter would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks again, Troy
