OBX Diff problems

Default OBX Diff problems

ok i got a obx diff in my gsr hydro tranny and i drove it for the frist time and when i turn left really sharp my axle pops out on the right side so the frist time this happen i took my life time axle back and got a new one so i made sure to pop it in goood. but it still happen this happen to anyone else and what did you do to fix it???

When you installed the diff.. did you drive it around in a open parking lot doing full turns to break it in? basically like a semi autocross type of deal.

lets just hope it's installed correctly.

is it shimmed correctly? i just put in an obx diff in my d series, i had to hit the wheel end of the axel with a large brass hammer to get it to seat fully. are you sure there was no gap between the axel and the trans housing?

no i didnt drive it around like you said.
and yes its shimed right and we took it apart and put the washers the right way and i hit it in there really good and i can pull it out about a half an inch then it stops but if it pops out then i can pull it almost all the way out of the trans just from under the hood?

has anyone took the snap ring and streched it out ?

it should not pull out a half inch before the lock ring stops it....

i honestly dont know, maybe pull it out and put it together on a bench and see whats up.

if you open up the snap ring it will work but good luck takin it back off

im not ready to take it out yet maybe ill pull the side apart and put the axle in and move it around and see if i can get it to pop out that way.

and about the snap ring you brought up a good thing it would be a bitch to get out if it broke and we all know how stock axles and 500whp go hand and hand not!!!lol thanks guys im going to work on it tommrow and see what i can find out
