Default obd2a ls ecu, and emission question

It's about that time to go get the 97 ek registered, so I threw in a obd1 ls longblock, and trans. Completely bone stock besides the aftermarket ebay cam gears that are on there, dialed in at 0 degrees.

I have to re-do the wiring harness for the stock Honda map sensor, because I have a Motorola harness linked to the pin-outs right now. However, I parted out my boosted setup from last year, and sold the Motorola map sensor. That however isn't my problem...

My problem is that I am not running a fuel tank pressure sensor in the back of the fuel tank, the evap canister, and the evap solenoid at all. All the emissions stuff was removed. Now that I think about it, yes it was a stupid decision, but now I can't seem to find any of the stuff in my garage, and I'm thinking of going to the junkyard and picking this stuff out. Shouldn't be a lot of trouble. I ran a p28 obd1 chipped ecu last year on my boosted gsr, but now I just want to get the car running on a stock ls ecu.

My question is, can I swap a stock obd2a LS ecu without picking up any CEL's for the FTP Sensor, EVAP Solenoid, and any other emission related CEL's. I heard that the GSR ECU is capable of doing this because it doesn't read the EVAP Solenoid, or the FTP Sensor. Correct me if I'm wrong.

PS: I heard some guys using resistors for these, but then again. I'm not really that hardcore into electrical.

i know the obd2a ecu's dont read for FTP only obd2b ecu's do

but i think it will still throw the code for the evap solenoid

i know in CA they do a test that doesn't care about if there's an evap code thrown..they manually test the system to see if it leaks..you might want to just ask a local smog guy what they test..they will probably tell you themselve

Why don't you put the ECU in there and see what happens? If you use the GSR ecu its going to fail due to having a check engine light for VTEC & knock sensor as well.

So you haven't even tried the stock ECU?

all obd2 ecu's will look for an evap solenoid. they all have them. the only thing some of them don't look for is the fuel tank pressure sensor.

All obd2 ecus have evap monitors. So yes you will flag a code with out the proper emissions set up....

Not exactly. A CEL of any kind is an automatic failure. The test you speak of is for 95 and older vehicles.(LPET) They did not have evap monitors and did not run self tests for evap leaks....

I guess I'll go ahead and hook up the evap system, and throw a obd2a ls ecu in there and see what happens.
