OBD1 vs OBD@ Block

OBD1 vs OBD2 Block
I have heard different storys about an OBD2 block. Is there different sensor locations, or extra sensors that the OBD1 block doesn't have? I was also told the extra sensor is on the oil pump. So I was thinking if I wanted to keep my car OBD2 I could use an OBD1 block with an OBD2 oil pump? If you know any differences between the two blocks please let me know. Thanks for your help!
